The extremely fruitful discussions reviewed Azerbaijan’s ongoing cooperation with OPEC, as well as the historic ‘Declaration of Cooperation’, and explored possible avenues to enhance collaboration in the future.
HE Barkindo stressed that President Aliyev has played an extremely constructive and important role both in securing the adoption of the ‘Declaration of Cooperation,’ as well as its ongoing successful implementation. He noted that Azerbaijan has consistently been one of the highest performing participating countries in terms of the voluntary production adjustments, always exceeding 100% conformity.
In the meeting with HE Shahbazov, the talks also explored the prospects for future cooperation between Azerbaijan and OPEC. In this context, the Secretary General expressed his gratitude for Azerbaijan’s support in the ongoing efforts to further enhance and institutionalize the OPEC-non-OPEC framework of cooperation.

Baghdad, Iraq, 26 March 2018--OPEC's Secretary General, HE Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, met with Iraqi Oil Minister, HE Jabbar Ali Hussein Al-luiebi, today in Baghdad. They discussed the oil market outlook and efforts by OPEC and non-OPEC signatories of the 'Declaration of Cooperation' to rebalance the oil market.
