OPEC to hold technical meeting on Asian energy and oil outlook
Vienna, Austria, 4 November 2021--The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will host the Seventh Technical Meeting on Asian Energy and Oil Outlook on Monday, 8 November 2021, via videoconference.
The Meeting will focus on addressing the developments of the Asian oil and energy markets, associated drivers and challenges, as well as the prospects for energy demand and the impact of policies related to carbon neutrality.
OPEC Secretary General, HE Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, stressed the importance and timeliness of the event, highlighting that the continent of Asia is home to key global producers and consumers of energy and crude oil.
“In a globalized industry, it is indispensable to build bridges with all industry stakeholders, in Asia and across the world, to exchange views and discuss pressing issues in the interest of OPEC’s overarching objective – sustainable oil market stability,” the Secretary General stated.
In its seventh iteration, the Meeting will be held as part of OPEC’s outreach efforts to promote international cooperation and dialogue between industry stakeholders to gain deeper insights and build mutual understanding.
