The 2012 editions of OPEC's World Oil Outlook and Annual Statistical Bulletin (ASB) will be officially presented at a press conference to be held at the OPEC Secretariat on Thursday, 8 November, at 14.30 hours CET.
OPEC's Secretary General, HE Abdalla S. El-Badri, and members of management will be available after the presentation to answer questions.
The World Oil Outlook and the ASB are the flagship annual publications of the OPEC Secretariat, representing the Organization's ever-evolving in-depth analysis of the global oil industry from past, present and future perspectives.
The World Oil Outlook, first published in 2007, provides an extensive review and assessment of various scenarios for the short-, medium- and long-term development of the oil industry, covering both the upstream and downstream sectors. The publication is an important reference tool and provides critical analyses of a wide range of key industry issues, such as supply and demand, investments, costs, policies and the environment. It also maps out some of the challenges, as well as opportunities, facing the industry.
Media and analysts requiring a copy of the World Oil Outlook prior to the press conference, can request a 48 hour embargoed copy that will be distributed on Tuesday, 6 November, at 14.30 hours CET.
The ASB, now in its 47th year, brings together comprehensive statistical data about crude oil and natural gas activities in OPEC's Member Countries. It also provides detailed time-series data on other aspects of the global petroleum industry, including imports and exports, as well as exploration, production and transportation activities.
The interactive version of the 2012 ASB, which also incorporates a complete PDF file, has been available on-line at http://www.opec.org/opec_web/en/publications/202.htm since July.
Journalists and analysts who wish to attend the presentations are kindly advised to visit the OPEC website for accreditation: http://www.opec.org/opec_web/en/press_room/309.htm.
