The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has a vacancy based in Vienna, Austria, for Secretary in the Director, Research Division’s Office.


Main Responsibilities

Assists in:

  • Arranging and records incoming correspondence (memos/letters/e-mails/invoices), and assists the Director in dispositions and distribution to the relevant staff; monitors and keeps Head informed regarding the status of follow up
  • Arranging and recording outgoing correspondence (memos/letters/e-mails/invoices), assisting the Director in checking wording and style, and providing the necessary background information; dispatches and  files as required
  • Drafting memos/letters/e-mail/other response statements as requested by the Director
  • Following-up pending matters within the Division and with other Division/Departments/Offices
  • Finalizing the Division’s reports and presentations to Management and to the Governing Bodies
  • Scheduling appointments of the Director
  • Translating correspondence from German to English and vice versa as required
  • Preparing for Meetings of Ministers, Governors and other high-level bodies; services these meetings and produces minutes/summaries of proceedings or decisions thereof
  • Carries out any other tasks assigned by the relevant superiors as pertain to his/her background, qualifications and position.


Requirements

  • Secondary School certificate plus special courses
  • 3 years of work experience

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, German an asset


Offer

Monthly basic salary of € 3,660 x 12 per year, with tax-free benefits and six-week annual leave.
