Senior Research Analyst

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has a vacancy based in Vienna, Austria, for Senior Research Analyst in the Director, Research Division’s Office.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the preparation, coordination and implementation of medium term programme, annual work and budgetary planning, project planning and monitoring for the Division within the framework of the Office of the Director;
  • Studies and analyses energy market and policy developments and regularly provides dossiers thereon to Director RD as required;
  • Supports the Director in the substantive preparation, review, revision and clearance of the Research Division’s papers and reports for the Governing Bodies as well as of external publication/presentations;
  • Initiates joint RD research projects and other collaboration with external entities.
  • Carries out any other tasks assigned by the relevant superiors as pertain to his/her background, qualifications and position.


  • University degree in Economics
  • Advanced degree preferred

Work Experience

  • University degree: 10 years, preferably in an international organization
  • Advanced degree: 8 years

Monthly basic salary of € 6,889 x 12 per year, with tax-free benefits and six-week annual leave.
