Systems & User Support Specialist

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has a vacancy based in Vienna, Austria, for Systems & User Support Specialist in its Administration & IT Services Department.


Main Responsibilities

  • Provides 2nd level helpdesk support to users; reviews the call log and ensures that user problems are resolved within 4 hours; refers problems that require more technical input to system administrators
  • Installs computers, software and peripheral equipment for users
  • Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease and effectiveness of use and makes recommendations to supervisor
  • Maintains a list of suppliers, noting their respective capabilities and  areas of expertise; seeks offers  for hardware and software for purchases
  • Examines trade magazines and attends computer trade shows to obtain latest information on computers and peripherals
  • Coordinates regular inventory of PCs, monitors and printers and prepares appropriate reports
  • Coordinates the activities of the helpdesk assistants to ensure that high quality helpdesk services are rendered; reviews the call log and ensures that it is properly maintained and user problems are resolved within 4 hours
  • Carries out any other tasks assigned by the relevant superiors as pertain to his/her background, qualifications and position


Requirements

  • University degree in computer science, information technology or other science studies related to information technology
  • 4 years of work experience

Offer

Commensurate remuneration package i.e. monthly basic salary of (€4,143 x 12 per year) with tax-free benefits and six-week annual leave.
