Ministerial plenary at CERAWeek

Houston, Texas, 7 March 2018--CERAWeek 2018 on March 6 played host to a high-level ministerial plenary session among a selection of ministers from the landmark ‘Declaration of Cooperation’.

The participating ministers were HE Carlos Pérez, Ecuador’s Minister of Hydrocarbons, HE Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Industry, Mines & Energy, HE Bakheet Al-Rashidi, Kuwait’s Minister of Oil, Electricity & Water, HE Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Qatar’s Minister of Energy & Industry, HE Mathambet Dosmukhambetov, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Energy Minister, and they were joined by HE Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, OPEC Secretary General. The dialogue was moderated by Carlos Pascual, Senior Vice President, IHS Markit.

The panel discussed the ‘Declaration of Cooperation’, the rebalancing of supply and demand in global oil markets, longer term goals for oil market stability, the challenges related to attracting investments and partners in an increasingly competitive market, climate change and sustainable development, as well as a number of country specific issues.
