OPEC Secretary General meets with President of Ecuador and Minister of Hydrocarbons in Quito

Quito, Ecuador, 7 February 2018--HE Lenín Moreno, the President of Ecuador, yesterday received HE Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), in Quito, Ecuador.

The Secretary General, and an accompanying OPEC delegation, also met with HE Eng. Carlos E. Pérez, Ecuador’s Minister of Hydrocarbons, and other senior officials in the Ministry. Discussions focused on the current oil market environment and a review of the landmark ‘Declaration of Cooperation’ in 2017, as well as expectations for 2018.
