OPEC's World Oil Outlook and Annual Statistical Bulletin for launch 4 Nov. 2010

No 6/2010
Vienna, Austria
30 Sep 2010

OPEC's 2010 World Oil Outlook (WOO) and the print edition of the 2009 Annual Statistical Bulletin (ASB) will be presented at a Press Conference to be held at the OPEC Secretariat on Thursday, 4 November 2010, at 14.00 hours CET.

The presentation will be made by OPEC's Secretary General, His Excellency Abdalla Salem El-Badri.

The WOO, first published in 2007, is an annual in-depth review and analysis of various scenarios for the short, medium, and long-term development of the oil industry, covering both the upstream and downstream sectors. The publication is an important reference tool that critically analyses a wide range of key industry issues, such as supply and demand, investments, costs, policies and the environment. It also maps out some of the challenges as well as opportunities facing the industry.

The ASB, now in its 45th year, brings together statistical data about oil and natural gas activities in OPEC's 12 Member Countries (Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela). It also provides detailed time-series data on other aspects of the global petroleum industry, including imports, exports, upstream/downstream activities, and exploration and production activities.

The 2009 ASB has been available only online, both in PDF and interactive versions, since June 2010. The print edition will be presented at the Press Conference.

Mr. El-Badri and other officials from OPEC's Research Division will be available to answer questions from those in attendance.

All journalists and analysts wishing to attend the public presentation are therefore advised to visit the OPEC website for accreditation: http://www.opec.org/opec_web/en/press_room/309.htm.
