WARNING – Fraudulent Use of the Official Logo and/or Name of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries - OPEC:
The official logo and/or name of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) are duly protected trademarks under the Paris Convention. Nevertheless, it has been brought to our attention that its emblem and official name are being unlawfully used for marketing, financial, investment as well as other business activities by fraudulent organizations, entities, agencies and individuals falsely alleging formal or informal links or agency relationships with OPEC in order to gain credibility.
BE WARNED that, OPEC is in no way linked to any such organizations, businesses, entities or individuals. Anyone wishing to forge a link with OPEC should do so via clearly established and widely publicized official channels by directly contacting the OPEC Secretariat at its Headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
OPEC accepts no liability or responsibility whatsoever for any damages including, without limitation, damages for loss of personal income, savings, business or loss of profits whether direct, consequential or incidental, arising in connection with or attributable to any action, decision, or steps taken as a result of using or relying on any material or information contained in any website, ads, emails, or correspondence of any kind purporting to involve OPEC in any of these schemes.
At the end of 2008, world proven crude oil reserves stood at 1,295,085 million barrels, of which 1,027,085 million barrels, or 79.3 per cent, was in OPEC Member Countries.
