Welcome to the 43rd edition of the Annual Statistical Bulletin (ASB), one of OPEC’s long-established publications of importance, which continues to provide objective, timely and reliable data about world energy markets.

As with previous editions, the 2007 ASB contains well researched statistical data regarding the oil and gas activities of OPEC’s 13 Member Countries — Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela — as well as the global petroleum industry in general. It also provides comprehensive and detailed data on upstream and downstream activities, and the global flows of oil and gas, in addition to basic financial data about some of the world’s largest oil and gas companies

OPEC believes that the sharing and transmission of accurate and reliable data is an important element in ensuring oil market stability. Thus, the ASB is one of OPEC’s contributions towards this objective.

We do hope that the data contained in the 2007 ASB will be found useful by the industry and the general public in understanding oil and gas activities and the role played by OPEC Member Countries in the stabilization of the global oil market.
