Year In Review 2008
The year 2008 was very challenging for the global economy and the oil industry. The oil market witnessed extreme price volatility, driven mainly by non-fundamental factors, particularly financial speculation, and towards the end of the year, a growing credit crunch. The OPEC Conference met five times during the year to review market conditions and adopt necessary steps to stabilize the market.
