Monitors, analyzes and forecasts world energy developments in the medium and long term, including analysis of energy supply, demand and environmental policies, government policies on energy conservation and other relevant factors, as well as technological developments affecting hydrocarbons and products and their non-energy end-uses.

The Department prepares medium and long-term forecasts of the demand for OPEC oil and gas.
